Hi, I'm Cordelia. I write about music, culture, and feeling. I am open to commissions for features, interviews, reviews, bio work and other creative projects.
Originally from Hong Kong, I moved to the UK for university and have been based in London since. On a given day, I will be writing about music, interviewing an artist I love, or watching Maggie Rogers' Red Rocks performance of 'Back in My Body' on loop. I specialise in having thoughtful and genuine conversations with artists about their craft and how they think and feel. I've been lucky to have conversations like this with popular artists across a spectrum of genres - my personal interview and writing highlights include Maggie Rogers, Gracie Abrams and Amber Mark. I also approach my album reviews (e.g. Japanese Breakfast 'Jubilee', Mitski 'Laurel Hell') through the lens of craft and feeling.
I have been a writer since I can remember, and began as a music journalist in my university newspaper. My first review was of Lorde's 'Melodrama' - I found real joy in describing the way 'Perfect Places' made me feel.
My heritage as a Hong Kong native and Chinese person in the UK is important to me - I am passionate about working with ESEA artists and am a core member of the "ESEA Music" industry collective.
